Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
imgresize.io is built around one rule: your files never leave your device. This policy explains what that means in practice and what little information we do handle.
Your files stay on your device
Every tool on imgresize.io — resizing, compressing, converting, cropping, background removal, collage, live photo, PDF tools and text recognition (OCR) — runs entirely inside your web browser. Your photos, documents and PDFs are never uploaded to our servers or any third party.
Because nothing is uploaded, we cannot see, store, sell or share your files. Closing the tab removes them from memory.
What we do collect
We keep anonymous usage counts (for example, how many times a tool was used) tied to a random visitor ID that cannot identify you. These counts never include file names, file contents or any personal detail.
If the site owner enables Google Analytics, standard anonymous analytics (pages visited, approximate region, device type) may be collected by Google under their own privacy policy.
What we never collect
- Your images, PDFs or any file content
- Your name, email or account details (there are no accounts for visitors)
- Your precise location
- Anything typed into documents you process
Local storage on your device
We store your theme choice (light/dark and colour theme) in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it next time. This never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Text recognition (OCR)
When you use the “To text” tool, the recognition engine is downloaded to your browser and reads your files on your device. The first use may download language data from a public content delivery network; after that, recognition works offline. Your files are not sent anywhere during recognition.
Administrator accounts
The site owner signs in with an email account to manage settings. This applies only to the owner — visitors never need an account.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics (optional, only if enabled by the owner)
- Advertising networks (only if the owner enables ads; those networks have their own policies)
- Font and language-data CDNs, which receive a standard web request like any file download
Children
The site is a general-purpose tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the “last updated” date at the top will change. Because we collect so little, changes will usually be clarifications rather than new data practices.
